Summary
If no one hates in Somaliland, either you've not been involved in anything productive, or you've not been telling the truth about anything of value to the society. There is as much of you in your country as there is your country in you: Indispensable, invaluable and inevitable you may wander back into your country lost; you will never wander into one you can call your own. For you, about you and nurtured by you, It defines who you are, even when you balk at it: If you're looking for a perfect and/or a permanent substitute, you need to disrupt your circadian rhythm with what works - patriotism. Take yourself out and you become a joke tripping all over the place. Forget your history and you become a history, so be a student of your country and cleverly manipulate on its behalf. For in essence that is a sense of how the world works. Your enemies will definitely help you destroy your country, but they may not accommodate you once homeless, so fix your "shitty" one to the admirability you crave instead of becoming a lesser person in your enemies' orbit. We may disagree with the direction of politics in our country, but if we disagree on politicking, we won't have a country to disagree about. Both you and your country will have your unique testy baggage, so you MUST learn how to symbiotically live (conjointly). To prosper together, challenge the status quo by standing up for what is right and don't ever let you or your country be defined by your mutual or separate past failures. And you don't need a psychic gift to do any of the above, but you will need a lot of thought through and convincing straight self-talk to be sincere with yourself and your country. And for national-self-interest, your problem with your country should be a lover's quarrel. To the friends I've lost or going to lose for just doing that: we have sacrificed more than friendships (risking loss of lives and destruction of centuries of wealth) for us to be taking sides peacefully and sleeping better at night. You might have heard about it? it's time to keep a gratitude journal and escalate the progress that incontrovertible forward dynamic to our nationhood, instead of starting one bush fires after another
